north

I seek the quiet, peaceful times, moments of pure meditation. In these spiritual times I accept the universe for what it is; natural. Everything is natural, from the fields of flowers to the asphalt streets littered with plastic.

I seek contrast, I'm eager to feel both sides.

Open up your senses, your universe, merge your reality with the reality.

Be free, be free and live among the clouds

Hello again, digiverse, I hope you are all well, I send my traveling energy your way. To pick up the story of ocea where it left off;

A relaxing night in Seaside charged me up for my entrance into Santa Cruz. I intended to only stay the night in Santa Cruz, perhaps two nights if it was welcomed, I stayed for four days altogether. Oh, what a beautiful group of people I met, so welcoming and full of life. I stumbled upon a jewish coop household of five residents, the others having left along with the current school semester ending. I ate incredibly well during my stay and experimented with several new vegan recipes. There was endless conversation and experience, and there seemed to be endless amounts of mota, as well.

A particular experience in Santa Cruz that resonated with me deep into my soul was volunteering at a farm. My new friend Keith invited me to participate at the Natural Bridges Homeless Garden Project. I picked strawberries, and weeds, and I picked at the lovely peoples minds whom worked at the garden. Picking weeds is great meditation, I hope my trip up the coast has lots of weeds in store for me :)

I'm falling in love

Friday came and I managed to get my things packed up, I left Santa Cruz and continued along the Cabrillo Highway to Half Moon Bay. Half Moon Bay had me within 32 miles of San Francisco, the city I had been sending energy to every time it appeared on the green distance signs.

I arrived in San Francisco on Saturday with no place to stay, during pride week, which is the busiest time of the year in SF. After an exhausting number of phone calls and couchsurf requests I was invited to stay at a lovely home in Bernal Heights. Greeted by a fellow cycle touring enthusiast, I felt welcome and had some of the best rest I've had in days. The rest was essential, because without I might have been pushed over the edge by the overwhelming intensity of the city.

I'm not a fan of big cities, but I had a positive experience in San Francisco once before and I've had a good feeling about the city. I felt a lot of good energy in the city, and I loved all of the culture, but it was not enough to overcome my disorientation caused by the cars, buildings, and forgotten people of the streets. I met a few really cool people, and I know I will return to San Francisco in the future to better feel out the city, but I was ready to move North to Nature.

Today I made my way out of the city, across the bridge, and out of the touristy neighboring city of Sausalito. Once out of Sausalito, I felt the stress of the city leave me, and a new energy entered, a new questing energy forged by the power of being in untouched territory. I consider everywhere North of San Francisco to be unknown and mysterious, this allows my mind to be free as I travel, I no longer need to "get away".

I am "away"

Where is away?

Where am I?

:)

I started the ride today with no idea for where I might stay the night, along the coast I almost set up camp next to a large rock that reminded me of a scene from Lord of the Rings.

Something called me further North

I continued up the Shoreline Highway until I saw a small pink arrow pointing left towards a road exiting the highway, I decided to follow this pink arrow. The pink arrow led me to a road which led me to a vegetable stand, which employed the honor system, I was the only one there. As I picked out my delicious greens and beets, another person came upon the stand, we started conversation. I greeted him then asked him about where I was, and that I was planning on camping on the beach. He shared with me what he knew about the upcoming town and told me that he was staying at a friends house.

Would your friend be open to the idea of someone camping in their lawn?

Haha, ya, you could just come stay in the house!

Wonderful, and now here I am, connected to the digiverse in the beautiful, quaint town of Bolinas. We've had a delicious meal, and enjoyed the epic view of the ocean and San Francisco, the best view, he says.

I agree, it is beautiful
